It's MRI Day:
This morning I arrived and was so happy to see Kayla in such great spirits still. Shortly after arriving she agreed it would be a good idea to go take a shower and have a nice hair scrub by momma. She kept telling me how good it felt and how do I know how to scrub just right. We laughed and joked and took our time. The chaplain came in and met us. A few nurses came in to ask questions. Kayla kept telling everyone how starving she was. Then at about 11:00 she started to get a head ache. I laid her down in my lap and rubbed her temples. She was doing really well other then that though. They gave her a small amount tylenol to ease the pain. Finally at about 12:00, a nice guy arrived to lead us down to the MRI room. She got to ride on a nice long bed with wheels all the way there. She thought that was pretty cool.
We entered a big room just outside of the MRI room and prepared for her to go in. They warned us that they will be shaving part of her hair and sections where the probes will go. As hard as it was for us to nod in agreement, we did. The nurse especially was very very kind. He requested a photo with the new MRI celebrity. I rubbed her hand and dad rubbed her leg while we let the "giggle gas" take effect. Right now, Kayla is having a nice siesta. They warned us that it could take anywhere between 1-3 hours before we get to see her again. Once we see her, she will look a little more like a "patient".
They are thinking that the surgery might be early Thurs morning. We will know much more after these tests are finished.

Kayla,
ReplyDeleteCarli wants to tell you that she really misses you. She also can not wait until you can come back to the Brownie meetings. Feel better.
aww. I love the pictures. Its so hard to see your kid in the hospital. Ash never had anything that bad, but just seeing them in it is hard. However hospitals can also be fun for kids. It helps them to cope. Hope all is going well!! Don't fret. You will all get through this.=) - <3Krysta
ReplyDeleteBoy, does it look like Kayla is in good hands! Sounds like they are so thorough in every way. I love that they are taking excellent care of her....they must have learned that from you. I am sending the best thoughts her way!!!

First I want to say you and Denny are AWESOME parents. I know this is a hard road. Thank you so much for keeping up the blog and taking pictures. It really helps us feel like we are right there with you physically every step of the way, not just emotionally. I'm sure this is therapy in itself keeping the blog going. You know we are all waiting every night to get the updates.
ReplyDeleteKeep up the good work! We love you all very much!
