PICU- Day 4

FOOD:

Today, OT cleared Kayla for some food! She can't have really chewy things, but she can have soft chewable foods and any liquids. She just finished a nice meal of peaches, Oatmeal, buttered noodles, apple juice and a strawberry smoothie. (She almost finished them all!)
Peaches..... YUM!
 Monday's accomplishments:

* ICP Drain was removed from her scalp! YAY!!!
* Kayla was able to sit at the edge of the bed and walk to the chair with help
Soooo sleepy!

* Kayla read the rest of her cards that her classmates made for her. This time, she was reading them and opening them up herself! She was much more alert and really REALLY enjoyed them so much.

Me       You    "Nothing could break us apart!"
Pathology update:
* The oncologist came in and told us that we will not get the pathology report until WEDNESDAY. I know a lot of people are wondering. At first they told us Tuesday, but there are some additional tests that take time. We want it to be accurate!
Kayla smiling. Her jaw is still really tight, but she is able to move her mouth so much more. She even gave me a good amount of sass today! That's our girl!!!

  3. So sweet. She's a doll. Yay for food! Yay for ICP drain removed! She's doing so well. And you Annie (Denny too) are just amazing. Giving us these valuable heart felt updates during all the emotions you are going through is just above and beyond. But I have to tell you, hundreds of us are on the edge of our seats refreshing the blog all day, looking forward to the next update. In my prayers tonight: seeing the word benign on your blog title tomorrow. Hang in there, you are so close to the light at the end of this tunnel and the rays of sunshine you will feel each and every day thereafter. That day will come. You will sleep without worry or fear really soon. Lots of love to you all.

  8. What a great day! Food must have been the highlight of the day, followed by movement. She's such a trooper, just like her parents! I'm sorry you have to endure another day without the final highly anticipated diagnosis of the tumor, but Wednesday will bring you much to be thankful for, when you hear the words BENIGN! Love and support continues to rage strong for TEAM DEHNERT, we love you all so incredibly much. Much love Jayna!
